“SUN, MOON, AND STARS”
CHANCEL CHOIR FALL CONCERT
SUNDAY, OCOBER 4 AT 3:00 PM

Join us for “Sun, Moon, and Stars,” a concert of popular and musical theater songs presented by our Chancel Choir and Soloists under the direction of Dr. Robert Jordan. The concert will be Sunday, October 4, at 3 PM in the parish hall. The suggested donation is $20.

+”Moon River” (music by Henry Mancini with lyrics by Johnny Mercer, originally appearing in the film Breakfast at Tiffany’s)

WORLD COMMUNION SUNDAY
OCTOBER 4 AT 10:00 AM

On Sunday, October 4, we will celebrate World Communion Sunday with Christians around the globe. Anyone who wishes can bake or buy a loaf of their favorite bread to share during Fellowship Time. Please leave your loaf in the downstairs kitchen prior to worship.

 

REV. ONLY WILL BE ON A PANEL DISCUSSING “FAITH, IDENTITY, ALLYSHIP, & THE LGBTQ+ COMMUNITY”
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 8 AT 7:00 PM
LANDMARK ON MAIN ST., PORT WASHINGTON

Rev. Only has been asked to join a panel of religious leaders to discuss “Faith, Identity, Allyship, & the LGBTQ+ Community” in the Jeanne Rimsky Theater at The Landmark on Main St., located at 232 Main Street, in Port Washington (across the street from the Port Library). The evening is part of a long-running series called, “Conversations From Main St.” The event will be moderated by Melissa Palazzo-Hart, founder of Hart Holdings. The night is co-sponsored by BE THE RAINBOW.

WOMEN AT THE WELL
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 11 AT 11:30 PM

Women of all ages are invited to join us for Women at the Well on Sunday, October 11 at 11:30 AM. This year’s theme is “Inspired.” When we meet, we will watch an interview of the late Dolly Parton and discuss the ways her life was an inspiration to us. Come as you are, bring a friend, and let’s find inspiration together!

MEN'S BREAKFAST AT LANDMARK DINER
TUESDAY, OCTOBER 13 AT 9:00 AM

All men are invited to our monthly breakfast gatherings at the Landmark Diner. Let Rev. Only know if you plan to attend.

YOUTH HOMEWORK HELP AT ADVENTURES IN LEARNING
WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 14 AT 3:45 PM

Youth (grades 6 – 12) are invited to go over to Adventure in Learning for the afternoon to help kids with homework. The afternoon usually begins around 3:45 and runs to around 5:30PM. Youth are welcome to meet us there, or if they need a ride, let Rev. Burgess know. RSVP to Rev. Burgess by Oct. 13th.

 

YOUTH HELP A NEIGHBOR DAY
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 17 AT 10:00 AM

On Saturday, October 17th, youth will gather for the morning to help a local neighbor in need. Rev. Burgess is working on the details for this service project. We’ll likely be helping with light yard work or other outside clean up. The project will start at 10 AM and run to around 12.

FAMILY SUNDAY
OCTOBER 18 AT 10:00 AM

Sunday, October 18th is our first official Family Sunday of the church program year! Our youth will serve as ushers and read scripture. Our children’s choir and youth bell choir will perform, and we will have a special message for the children during worship. We hope that you and your family can join us for this special day in the life of our church family.

Rev. Burgess needs youth to help serve as ushers and greeters as well as a volunteer to read scripture for the morning. Please let Rev. Burgess know if your youth would like to help us out for the morning.

YOUTH HALLOWEEN SPOOKY WALK
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 23 AT 6:30 PM

All youth, grades 6 – 12 (and older elementary kids) are invited to join us for a fun night together at the Clark Botanical Garden’s annual “Spooky Walk” in Albertson. The address is 193 I.U. Willets Rd, Albertson, NY. The fee is $5.00 for the walk but bring cash for food and concessions that they will have available. We will meet at the entrance at 6:30 PM. Let Rev. Burgess know if you’re youth or family would like to join us!

UNICEF COLLECTION
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 25 AT 11:00 AM

During coffee hour on October 25, our children will be taking up a special collection for UNICEF to help kids around the world. Look for their orange boxes (or QR code) and support their efforts to bring food, clean water, and hope to children in need. Together, we can make a big difference—one small gift at a time!

WOMEN AT THE WELL
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 25 AT 11:30 PM

All women are welcome to join us on Sunday, October 25th at 11:30 AM as we continue this year’s theme: “Inspired.” We’ll gather to watch one woman who has inspired many of us over the decades with her passion for simple cooking and entertaining – Ina Garten. We’ll watch a New York Times interview intitled, “Ina Garten on Getting Older, Taking Risks and and Trusting Herself.” After we watch this fun and inspiring interview we will have a time of discussion together. All women are welcome!

YOUTH & FAMILIES GAME NIGHT
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 30 AT 6:00 PM

On Friday, October 30 from 6 to 8 PM in the Parish Hall, we’ll enjoy game night for all ages! We’ll provide a pizza supper. Families, please bring a dessert to share. Expect organized group games plus some kid-requested favorites. RSVP by Thursday, October 29 so we know you’re coming!

ALL SAINTS SUNDAY: WOULD YOU LIKE TO ADD A NAME?
SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 1 AT 10:00 AM

On All Saints Sunday, we will remember members and friends of the church who have passed since All Saints Sunday 2025. If you would like to add someone to the list, email their name and date of death to Rev. Only by 9 AM on Tuesday, October 27.
